Thanks man, glad you like it! MyPaint really isn't stopping anyone from anything. There's an annoyence now and then but you can get just the same result as with any other (commercial) software if you know how to do it in the first place.
You are absolutely right. I've found myself using MyPaint more and more, lately. (My other option would be GIMP, so no commercial software there anyway, but you can do a lot with GIMP too, once you study it a bit ) But yeah, hands up to the MyPaint. One of the strongest points of that program is that you don't have to learn to use it first, before you can even get into the action.
I bought ArtRage a while ago, btw. Awesome program, I'm currently working on a bit of a secret project that I've spent a bit of time on. I'll upload it to dA by the end of next week probably — feels great to start painting again.
I haven't had time and I haven't really been inspired for the last couple of months. Lots of stuff in school and just generally feeling down does that. I'm currently working on finishing a couple of university courses I failed, getting into shape physically and improving my life in general, and so far the effects on my level of inspiration when it comes to creating artworks have been astounding.
